X-ray and CT scan in Gothenburg at Evidia Annedal

Evidia Annedal Röntgen is an X-ray clinic on Medicinareberget in Gothenburg. Here, examinations are carried out using CT, conventional X-ray and ultrasound. The clinic performs X-rays of the skeleton and lungs as well as more advanced CT examinations of the body's organs and blood vessels.

Evidia Annedal is one of the radiology clinics in the Gothenburg area to which the Test Clinic can send a referral. After you have ordered an examination, you will receive a consultation by telephone with one of our doctors. The doctor will review your symptoms, your medical history and the purpose of the examination to ensure that the chosen method is medically justified.

If the examination is deemed appropriate, the Test Clinic will draw up a referral with relevant medical history and medical questions. The referral is then sent digitally to the X-ray clinic for radiological review. Once the referral has been approved, you will receive a notice with the time, location and any information about preparations.

Computed tomography in Gothenburg

At Evidia Annedal, examinations are performed using computed tomography, also known as DT or CT. The method uses X-ray radiation and computer processing to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body. It can provide more information than a regular X-ray when organs, blood vessels, lungs or other anatomical structures need to be examined more closely.

Which type of computed tomography is appropriate is determined based on your symptoms and the medical question. In some examinations, contrast agents are used to make organs or blood vessels clearer in the images.

CT examinations Gothenburg

Examples of CT examinations

Computed tomography can be used for several types of medical issues. Depending on the doctor's assessment, a referral may, for example, refer to:

  • CT of the lungs and chest.

  • CT of the abdomen or pelvis.

  • CT of the kidneys and urinary tract.

  • CT of the head or sinuses.

  • CT of the heart and coronary arteries.

  • CT Calcium score for the assessment of calcifications in the coronary arteries.

The exact examination area and radiological question are determined after the doctor's consultation. Not all examinations are suitable for all symptoms, and the radiologist may recommend that the referral be adjusted or that a different method be used if necessary.

Computed tomography of the lungs and chest

CT of the lungs and chest provides detailed images of the lung tissue and structures in the chest. The examination may be relevant, among other things, in the event of long-term respiratory symptoms, changes that need to be investigated more closely, or follow-up of previous radiological findings. When you order a lung examination through the Test Clinic, the doctor first assesses your symptoms and previous medical information. It is then determined whether computed tomography is the right examination method and what questions the referral should contain.

CT coronary arteries and calcium score

In CT of the coronary arteries, computed tomography is used to examine the vessels that supply the heart muscle with blood. The examination may include, among other things, a calcium score, which measures the amount of calcification in the walls of the coronary arteries.

A calcium score can provide information about the presence of calcified atherosclerosis and be used as part of an overall assessment of the risk of future cardiovascular disease. In a CT coronary artery examination, contrast agents can also be used to image the anatomy of the vessels and any narrowing.

Conventional X-ray of the skeleton and lungs

Evidia Annedal also performs conventional X-ray examinations. Conventional X-rays are primarily used to examine the skeleton, joints and lungs and can, for example, be relevant when there is a suspicion of a fracture, joint disease or changes in the lungs.

A chest X-ray takes pictures of the lungs and chest. The examination can be used to investigate, for example, a long-term cough, breathing problems or other symptoms where the doctor needs an overview of the lungs.

Ultrasound examinations in Gothenburg

Evidia Annedal also performs ultrasound examinations. Ultrasound uses sound waves instead of X-rays and can be used to image organs and soft tissues. The method can be used, among other things, to examine the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, bladder, pancreas, throat, muscles and other superficial structures. The area to be investigated is stated in the referral and any preparations are stated in the notice.
